#1 Bias in Cable News
Not Everything You See and Hear is Always True
At some point in everyone's life, they will be guilty of believing what they see on the internet, social media, and the news is true. The internet and social media aren't as easy to be fooled by on most occasions. The News on the other hand can sometimes be convincing. It is hard to think that what you see on live television would be false news since they are sharing it with the entire world. The world today is masked by news anchors' biased opinions of the news rather than the facts.
The news was originally intended to be given to people and it should be your choice what you choose to believe and what you think is right and wrong. Instead, you are given this edited version of what the News channel thinks is right and wrong and now it is your job to figure out what is true and what is sugar-coated. Today, you have the right and left sides of the news. The right side is affiliated with Republican-heavy news. The left side is in favor of the Democrat side of the news. Even though these sides have favorites, this does not mean that they don't report about the other, it just means that their information may be opinionated and misleading.
Walter Cronkite, was a very popular news anchor for CBS in the '60s until he retired in the early '80s. Walter was known for his honesty during his time of being a news anchor. You could trust that whatever he projected onto the news was going to be the truth whether he thought it was right or wrong. He liked to end his broadcasting each night with "and that's the way it is" because the information that he relayed was nothing but the truth.
Nowadays, all you see is people choosing sides. Every news station you see will choose sides and the people will follow along with the station that they choose to believe and pay no attention to the other. For example, when you look at Fox News, you can tell that they are partial to the Republican party. CNN, on the other hand, favors the Democratic party. Recent studies have shown that Republicans trust Fox News over any other resource but then again, Fox News is the last option for Democrats.
